Tacoma DeMolay Sandspit Nature Preserve

Description: The 3.5-acre property was acquired by PenMet Parks from the Tacoma DeMolay in 2010. The property has served as an organizational camp since 1959, and even some camp-related activity back to 1947.
The DeMolay property will be managed to preserve the natural features and host selective activities. Its use is limited to historical use such as DeMolay functions, limited Scout functions and a few family gatherings. Property can be reserved for organized camps and small gatherings. Site is monitored by a seasonal caretaker.

Description: The 79-acre Madrona Links Golf Course is an 18-hole Ken Tyson designed course. The course contains a pro shop and restaurant.

Peninsula Joint Recreation Area

Location: 8502 Skansie Ave, Gig Harbor
Description: This 9.2-acre property is located on Skansie Ave behind and adjoining Gig Harbor High School and Discovery Elementary School. The grass football field is surrounded by a special rubber surfaced running track. The regulation sized football field includes bleachers, fencing, concession, and other supporting features. The 2.0-acre northern portion of the park site adjacent to Skansie Avenue and SR-16 is undeveloped and covered with sloping wooded hillsides. Park users have informally developed parking areas and 0.2 miles of trails that access the woodlands and surrounding fields.
