The Peninsula Metropolitan Park District (PenMet Parks) was created in May of 2004 by a majority vote of Peninsula residents. The District's mission is "to enhance the quality of life on the Gig Harbor Peninsula by providing park and recreational opportunities for all of its citizens". This mission is only accomplished by working with you and others.

Family Fun Fest Summer Picnic & Games Come enjoy three-legged races, balloon toss, bat spin relay, temporary tattoos, giant air-filled play toys, carnival games, bocce ball, volleyball, and more.
Family Fun Fest will be held at Goodman Middle School, 3701-38th Avenue NW, Gig Harbor. Saturday, August 29th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
PenMet Parks Awards Bid for Sehmel Homestead Park The PenMet Parks Board of Park Commissioners awards Sehmel Homestead Park Project to Woodworth and Company of Tacoma in the amount of $7,031,908. District's PEG Grant The PenMet Parks Board of Park Commissioners created a $65,000 matching grant program to help enhance Gig Harbor Peninsula area parks. The program is designed to encourage and assist individuals, businesses, and community groups interested in expanding park and recreation opportunities, and improving the quality of life on the peninsula.
