PenMet Parks offers recreational opportunities in a variety of ways including partnering with other recreation service providers, sponsoring special events, and providing information about other recreation services serving the Gig Harbor peninsula.

Breakfast with Santa PenMet Parks hosted its first annual Breakfast with Santa in December with music, entertainment, holiday crafts, santa photos, and pancake breakfast. Approximately 260 people in attendance. Click here to view more pictures of the event.
Scarecrow Festival PenMet Parks hosted its first annual Scarecrow Festival in October with approximately 1,000 people in attendance and scarecrow entries from over 20 community groups, local businesses, and families. Click here to view more pictures of the event.
Donkey Creek Chum Festival PenMet Parks participated in the third annual Donkey Creek Chum Festival in October with almost 200 people registering to guess the weight of a salmon provided by the Gig Harbor Commercial Fishermen's Club.
Maritime Gig Parade PenMet Parks participated in the third annual Maritime Gig Parade in April with over 1,200 kids.
HawkTide Grass Classic PenMet Parks hosted the second annual volleyball tournament at Sehmel Homestead Park in August.
Parks Appreciation Day PenMet Parks hosted Parks Appreciation Day in cooperation with Metro Parks Tacoma and several other park agencies around Pierce County. The event brings thousands of citizen volunteers out to our parks for a variety of projects ranging from brush trimming, to general sprucing and cleanup, to light construction. PenMet Parks had 217 volunteers working at four different park sites.
Family Fun Fest PenMet Parks hosted the third annual Family Fun Fest in August with over 1,000 attendees enjoying train rides, three-legged races, balloon toss, face painting, temporary tattoos, giant air-filled play toys, carnival games, circus acrobatics, volleyball, music, food, drink, and more.
Spring Egg Hunt PenMet Parks hosted the third annual Spring Egg Hunt in April with over 1,200 kids attending to hunt eggs, claim prizes, enjoy bounce houses, music, and more.
